Our Mission
Knead for Change empowers people with lived experience of homelessness to rebuild confidence, develop employability skills, and move towards sustainable work through structured baking-based training and enterprise.
Objectives
1. Relief of Poverty and Disadvantage
To relieve poverty and disadvantage, particularly among people with lived experience of homelessness or rough sleeping, by supporting them to move towards sustainable employment and economic independence.
2. Education, Training and Employability
To advance education and training by providing skills development, vocational training, mentoring, and confidence-building programmes designed to improve employability, work readiness, and long-term life outcomes.
3. Social Inclusion
To promote social inclusion by supporting individuals who are socially excluded as a result of homelessness, unemployment, or disadvantage, enabling their full participation in society and working life.
4. Citizenship and Community Development
To promote community development by challenging negative perceptions and stigma associated with homelessness and disadvantage, and by promoting understanding, dignity, and inclusion through public engagement, education, and awareness-raising activities.
5. Mental Health and Emotional Wellbeing
To promote mental health and emotional wellbeing among people with lived experience of homelessness or disadvantage by providing structured, purposeful baking and food-based activities which support therapeutic outcomes, confidence-building, routine, social connection, and personal development as part of a pathway towards improved wellbeing and employability.
